Course Title: Identifying and Reporting Your SOHMS Trends

Course Type: Workshops

Objective: This workshop focuses on your trend analysis process. It provides information on leading and lagging indicators of safety and health (S&H) performance, actions to address S&H trends, and presenting trend results. The workshop includes activities to help establish a robust trend analysis program, including: differentiating between leading and lagging indicators, developing a plan to manage monitoring and measurement information, and reviewing example S&H data sets to identify trends. The workshop concludes with ideas for using your trend results and action plan to improve your safety and occupational health management system (SOHMS).

Pre-Requisites: This workshop is beneficial to personnel wanting to learn more about identifying and analyzing S&H trends. Attendees should have a basic understanding of monitoring, measurement, and assessment of S&H data prior to this workshop. Personnel gaining the most benefit from this workshop may include: S&H professionals, persons with additional S&H duties related to trend analysis (e.g., Additional Duty Safety Officers [ADSOs], Collateral Duty Safety Officers [CDSOs]), business analysts, and SOHMS Champions.

Mr. Hody has been with the SMCX since 2012, helping support all DoD Services and Agencies. He has worked on other projects while at CTC, including conducting industrial hygiene assessments for the Army. Prior to CTC, he worked in private industry, assisting with the company’s trending program.
