Course Title: Understanding My Employees’ Toxic Metal Exposures

Course Type: Webinars

Objective: This webinar addresses concerns about toxic metal exposures in the workplace. It defines toxic metals and then summarizes the characteristics and common sources of exposure for toxic metals. The webinar names several toxic metals common in DoD processes and covers the signs and symptoms of exposure to each toxic metal. Finally, the webinar also covers exposure limits for each toxic metal and lists some general controls to apply to work situations involving toxic metal exposures.

Pre-Requisites: Attendees should have a basic understanding of any toxic or heavy metals used or generated within their own workplace prior to this webinar. Personnel gaining the most benefit from this presentation may include: S&H professionals, industrial hygiene staff, occupational health staff, S&H trainers, and other personnel responsible for managing regulated work areas or processes.

Ms. D’Agostino Began her career in safety and health with OSHA and has many years of experience in the Department of the Army as an industrial hygienist, environmental protection specialist and a safety manager. She has worked for the SMCX since 2011.

Mr. Hamel has 40+ years of experience in the industrial hygiene and safety engineering fields. He recently retired from OSHA as the Director of the Office Partnerships and Recognition. Prior to that he was the Director of Occupational Safety and Health for the Defense Logistics Agency
