Course Title: Am I Doing It Right? Overseeing On-Site Contractor Safety and Health

Course Type: Webinars

Objective: The webinar focuses on contractor management and oversight information for safety management systems (SMSs). The webinar discusses the types of contractors and why to include them in your SMS efforts. In addition, it provides information about the expectations for ensuring the safety and health (S&H) of contractors, as well as implementation actions to help support SMS expectations.

Pre-Requisites: This presentation is an introductory webinar that is beneficial to personnel wanting to learn more about contractor management and oversight in a SMS. Personnel gaining the most benefit from this presentation may include: SMS points of contact, Contracting Officer’s Representatives (CORs) and other contract representatives, Safety Managers/Safety staff, & Safety committee members. This presentation is most beneficial for worksites with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) approval or DoD Service Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Star recognition. Much of the information will also be useful for other recognized SMS models (e.g., American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z-10, Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001/International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 45001), but may not be as applicable.
