Course Title: Get the Dirt on Housekeeping: Right vs. Wrong

Course Type: Workshops

Objective: This workshop focuses on ways to improve general housekeeping at your organization and highlights common findings observed in areas with poor housekeeping. It reviews the 1910.22 housekeeping standard and provides information on writing a housekeeping plan. It includes activities to help you develop an inspection checklist tailored to housekeeping in your work areas. Finally, the workshop concludes with a violation spotting activity to help recognize housekeeping hazards at your organization.

Pre-Requisites: This workshop is beneficial to personnel wanting to learn more about good housekeeping in terms of safety and health (S&H). Attendees should have an intermediate understanding of basic housekeeping requirements in work environments prior to this workshop. Personnel gaining the most benefit from this workshop may include: • S&H personnel • Managers • Supervisors and employees

Dr. Schroth has been with the SMCX since 2009, supporting all DoD Services and Agencies. She has experience in establishing safety inspection procedures and educating staff on hazard identification. She has also addressed housekeeping issues, which are frequently observed during SMCX evaluations.
